On Thursday, the Senate Armed Services Committee (SASC) approved its version of the Fiscal Year (FY) 2017 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). Continuing her effective and bipartisan advocacy in the Senate, U.S. Senator Kelly Ayotte used her position on the committee and as Chair of the Readiness and Management Support Subcommittee to successfully include in the SASC-passed NDAA more than 42 bill and report provisions that are important to our service members, New Hampshire, and our national security.

"As a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, I will continue to work in an effective and bipartisan manner to advocate on behalf of those who serve our country in uniform and keep us safe. Portsmouth Naval Shipyard and the New Hampshire National Guard play critical roles in our nation's security, and the workers at the shipyard and the members of our Guard can count on me to continue to work hard on their behalf," said Senator Ayotte. "I was pleased to work with Senator Shaheen on a variety of provisions on behalf of New Hampshire-the only state with two senators on the Senate Armed Services Committee."
