Press Release

Date: Oct. 21, 2015
Issues: Defense

Today Montana Congressman and retired U.S. Navy SEAL Commander, Ryan Zinke, announced his leadership PAC, SEAL (Supporting and Electing American Leaders) PAC, endorsed retired Air Force Brigadier General Don Bacon for Nebraska's Second Congressional District.

"Brigadier General Don Bacon is exactly the kind of leader we need more of in Congress," said Ryan Zinke, Montana Congressman and retired Navy SEAL Commander. "As an Air Force officer, Don took the oath to defend our Constitution from enemies foreign and domestic, and will take it again as a member of the House. In Congress that means making sure our troops have the supplies, tools and funding necessary to stay safe and defeat the enemy, and at home it means standing strong against those who wish to trample our Constitutional rights. I am confident Don will be a strong leader for our troops and veterans and for Nebraskans who are trying to build brighter futures for their families."

Don Bacon stated, "I thank Congressman Zinke for this endorsement and I am very honored. I look forward to working closely with him to ensure our military stays strong and that we live up to the promises given to our veterans. I also fully support his efforts to restore fiscal responsibility in Washington, D.C. and to lift the regulatory burdens off the shoulders of our small businesses."

Don Bacon joined the Air Force in 1985 and served for 29 years, retiring as a Brigadier General. He deployed four times during his career to the Middle East to include commanding an electronic warfare squadron during the invasion of Iraq and a year-long tour to Baghdad during the surge in 2007-2008. He won multiple awards during his time in the Air Force including Distinguished Service Medal, two Legion of Merits, and two Bronze Stars. He was a distinguished graduate in his Air and Command Staff College, Navigator School, and Intelligence School.

Congressman Zinke joins former Nebraska Governor Kay Orr, Congressman Steve Russell (OK-5), Retired Lieutenant General Jerry Boykin, State Senator Beau McCoy, Bellevue Mayor Rita Sanders, Papillion Mayor David Black, La Vista Mayor Doug Kindig, Sarpy County Attorney Lee Polikov, Millard School Board Treasurer Mike Kennedy, Retired Gretna Mayor Tim Gilligan, Retired Sarpy County Sheriff Lieutenant Russ Zeeb, retired Sarpy County Election Commissioner Joyce Schram, the Associated Builders and Contractors, and the Concerned Women Political Action Committee in endorsing the candidacy of Don Bacon.

In 2015, SEAL PAC endorsed retired Air Force Brigadier General Don Bacon for Nebraska's Second Congressional District and retired Staff Sergeant Brian Mast for Florida's 18th Congressional District.
