Enzi Lauds O'Connor's Service

Washington, D.C. - U.S. Senator Mike Enzi, R-Wyo., made the following comments regarding Justice Sandra Day O'Connor's recent announcement of her resignation from the United States Supreme Court.

"Justice O'Connor has served with honor and integrity during her tenure on the bench of the Supreme Court. She has left a legacy of a supreme knowledge of the law and has diligently served this country while interpreting the foundational document of our country.

"As the first woman nominated to the Supreme Court, she can leave the bench knowing that she has impacted the course of many lives. Her life is a fine example of a woman who, in the face of adversity, educated herself and rose to one of the highest offices in this country. She has left a positive mark on history and this country. Her thoughtful insight and substantial contributions to the Supreme Court will be missed."
