Issue Position: Earning Education & Local Control

Issue Position

I teach Organizational Leadership at Lincoln Memorial University (LMU). I was thankful that the military provided me financial opportunity to pursue higher education and use that education to lead the next generation of learners. But I did pay for my higher education through service to our country. If we simply give away education, we will saturate the workforce with people who never understood what it meant to earn something.

As the father of two young daughters, I want an excellent educational system that puts the student first. I believe in competition and choice. Additionally, I think there should be more local decision-making and believe that the decisions that affect our communities should be made by the communities themselves.
