Issue Position

I have lost sleep thinking about my daughters' future. These revolving questions return to me often: Will they have an opportunity to come back to Bell to raise their family after college? Will they move away? Many of you think about the same issues. Will our kids and grandkids have the opportunities they deserve? Will they be able to attend college? After college, will they return home? These questions haunt us. These questions are the reason that I am running for State Representative.

I've said numerous times that our economy makes us uncomfortable. 1977 was tragic, but 2025 and 2050 will be far worse if we don't elect someone who understands the importance of recruiting industry. If Coach Cal recruited like our State Representative, everyone in Bell and Harlan would ask for his resignation immediately. People are clear about their frustration with our current representative. People are clear that they feel forgotten. The Marine Corps teaches the value of a Plan B. As a Logistics Officer, we had to adjust our plans around adversity that inevitably arises, no matter how amazing we felt Plan A was. As your State Representative, I will never put our eggs in one basket. Our children's future depends on aggressive and targeted prospecting.

Once elected, I will immediately form an Economic Development Advisory Board to discuss developing themes. We will work with our Real Estate Professionals, Civil Engineers, local politicians, and community leaders to uncover any vacant buildings or commercial properties available. Once we comprise a list of our availability, I will utilize my large network of Veterans, Harvard Graduates, and professional friends to hunt down governmental contracts, private sector industry, and tourism opportunities to immediately stimulate our economy with our current resources. I will work with our friend, Hal Rogers, to see what we can bring in from the Federal Government to help stimulate our stagnated economy.

I will work hard to bring back industry and money to Bell and Harlan. Our children deserve a future in Bell and Harlan. They deserve the opportunity to stay here and raise their family.
