Location: Washington, DC

Today, the House Financial Services Committee passed two of Congresswoman Sinema's bipartisan bills to reduce burdensome regulations and help Arizona small businesses create jobs and grow the economy.

"Arizona small business owners regularly tell me that burdensome and unnecessary regulations stifle their abilities to grow and succeed," said Congresswoman Sinema. "These bills are bipartisan, commonsense solutions that cut red tape and encourage the growth of innovative startups and job-creating small businesses."

The Helping Angels Lead Our Startups (HALOS) Act, introduced with Congressman Steve Chabot (OH-01), Congressman Robert Hurt (VA-05) and Congressman Mark Takai (HI-01), provides a clear path for startup businesses to connect with angel investors and venture capitalists through "demo days" without being subject to onerous verification requirements.

The Fostering Innovation Act, introduced with Congressman Mike Fitzpatrick (PA-08), provides commonsense regulatory relief for companies on the cutting edge of scientific and medical research.
