Catherine Cortez Masto Statement on Opponents of Sandoval Education Funding Increase Dropping Ballot Initiative

Former Nevada Attorney General and candidate for U.S. Senate Catherine Cortez Masto released the following statement on reports that opponents of Governor Brian Sandoval's bipartisan increase in education funding were dropping their ballot initiative to repeal it:

"This is good news for Nevada students and bad news for opponents of this bipartisan increase in education funding, like my opponent Congressman Heck. Last year, Democrats and Republicans came together to find common ground and pass a historic increase in education funding in Nevada, something we don't see often in Washington. Unfortunately, Congressman Heck opposed this increase in education funding and in Washington has voted with Republicans for budgets that cut funding for Nevada schools. Unlike my opponent, I know how to work with both parties to solve problems, and as Nevada's next Senator, I will put our kids in Nevada first, not party bosses in Washington."
