Duckworth's Office Hosts Satellite Office Hours, Provides Tax Clinic Info In Partnership With Administer Justice

Press Release

Date: April 13, 2016
Location: Elgin, IL
Issues: Taxes

Congresswoman Tammy Duckworth's (IL-08) office in partnership with Administer Justice today hosted Satellite Office Hours at the Gail Borden Public Library to provide information about free and affordable tax assistance services and assist constituents with federal issues and benefit delays. Administer Justice is the only permanent low-income tax clinic in the Eighth District and their representatives were on hand to provide tax resources and information about the services they offer to eligible residents--including tax dispute resolution, financial counseling, ESL tax assistance and identity theft protection.

"Americans deserve every penny they may be owed by the IRS," said Congresswoman Duckworth. "Many low-income and middle-class families may be eligible for services that help them take advantage of tax credits and deductions that they might otherwise miss out on. It's important that our taxpayers have the opportunity to learn about all the tax filing services for which they may be eligible."

The Satellite Office Hours hosted by Congresswoman Duckworth's office provide an opportunity for residents of the Eighth District to share their questions, comments and concerns with the Congresswoman's staff and get assistance with federal issues, including delays to federal benefits like Social Security and Medicare. Her office hosts Satellite Office Hours regularly on the second Wednesday of each month (at Elgin's Gail Borden Public Library) and the third Wednesday of each month (at the Addison Public Library). Those with questions regarding these satellite events are encouraged to call the Congresswoman's District Office at (847) 413-1959.
