Issue Position: Term Limits

Issue Position

Date: Jan. 1, 2016

Pennsylvania has the largest full time state government in the United States and probably the most expensive too. Pennsylvania has 50 Senators and 203 Members in the House of Representatives. Some 3000 personnel are employed in their support. The size of our State Government must be reduced.

-Enact term limits for members of the General Assembly. Maximum of 12 years, any combination of Senate or House.
-Currently, the term for a State Rep is two years. Change the term of State Representative to 4 years. This will allow the representatives more time to do their job and less time chasing re-election.
-Have a politically impartial panel reform the redistricting process to allow for more competitive elections and continuity of legislative districts.
-No gifts which exceed $25 allowed to State Officials. That's plenty enough to cover somebody buying coffee and a donut.
