Location: Washington, DC

U.S. Sen. Jeff Flake (R-Ariz.) today released the following statement praising the passage of the American Manufacturing Competitiveness Act, bicameral and bipartisan legislation reforming and strengthening the Miscellaneous Tariff Bill (MTB) process:

"After working with my House and Senate colleagues to help craft legislation creating an MTB process that complies with the ban on earmarks, I'm pleased that the American Manufacturing Competitiveness Act has now been approved in the Senate. I urge the president to sign this bill into law without delay," said Flake. "Reforming the MTB process not only provides a path forward for much-needed tariff relief that will benefit small business and consumers alike -- it's also good for the long-term survival of the earmark moratorium."

Background: Last evening, Flake spoke in support of the American Manufacturing Competitiveness Act and for reforming the MTB process.
