Governor Hassan Announces Job Training Grants for Three New Hampshire Companies in April

Continuing her efforts to help New Hampshire workers foster the skills needed for good jobs in the 21st century innovation economy, Governor Maggie Hassan announced today that three New Hampshire companies have been awarded job training grants to help train 97 workers in new skills.

The job training grants this month total $48,667, and the companies contributed matching funds to bring the total amount for training workers to $97,334.

"I am pleased to announce the latest round of important grants that will help equip our workers with the skills for good jobs at growing, innovative businesses in the Granite State," said Governor Hassan. "New Hampshire's Job Training Fund is an essential resource that has helped thousands of workers develop the skills and innovative thinking needed for success in the 21st century economy. We must remain focused on strengthening our workforce pipeline through job training and higher education to help expand middle class opportunity, support innovative businesses and keep New Hampshire's economy moving in the right direction."

OSRAM Sylvania of Hillsboro received a grant of up to $27,750 to train 66 employees in courses including presentation skills at Communication, Motivation and Management, Inc.; PMAC/QMAC Motion Control Software with AXISNE; Featurecam Machining Software from DM Solutions; Scanning Electron Microscopy & X-Ray Analysis from Lehigh Microscopy School; Cognex Visions System from Gibson Engineering Co., Inc.; NFPA79 Standard with Workplace Safety Solutions, Inc.; and IPCA610 PCB Board Inspection Specialist & Trainer Certifications from EPTAC Corporation.
A grant of $8,925 was awarded to MaineLine Graphics of Antrim for 23 employees to receive Lean Manufacturing training from the New Hampshire Manufacturing Extension Partnership (NHMEP).
CHI Engineering of Portsmouth received a grant of $11,992 to train eight employees in a variety of programs, including Aspen HYSYS Modeling at Aspen Technology, Inc.; Process Burner Fundamentals at John Zink Company; LNG Safety Responses with Power Analytics; Coating Inspections at NACE International; Wonderware ArchestrA System Platform 1 from Wonderware North; and Project Cost Estimating at Management Concepts, Inc.

The Job Training Fund has awarded $8,863,373 in grants since October 2007, with employers contributing $11,662,623 for a total of $20,525,996 in new training for 25,943 New Hampshire workers.
