Colorado U.S. Senator Michael Bennet issued the following statement on the confirmation of John King to serve as Secretary of Education.
"We're looking forward to working with Secretary King to implement the Every Student Succeeds Act and ensure Colorado's school districts and educators have support and assistance as they transition away from No Child Left Behind. This is a crucial year for the new law, and we need to focus on increasing equity in our K-12 education system. Additionally, at a time when higher education is becoming a prerequisite to success, we also look forward to working with Secretary King on steps to increase access to higher education and to make college more affordable."
