Congressman Tom Rice (SC-07) today announced that he has returned $100,929 of his office's operating budget to the United States Treasury.

"Just as our constituents must operate on a budget, so should the federal government. Each year, my staff and I carefully create a budget for our three fully operational offices and continuously look for ways to cut costs and save the taxpayers money. I will continue to apply these budgeting principles to our office budget and the national budget, and will fight to rein in government spending. I am proud to return over $100,000 back to the Treasury and ask that it be used to pay down the national debt," said Rice.

Since taking office in January 2013, Rice has returned over $359,000 to the United States Treasury in cumulative yearly operating budget savings. Rice has three offices serving South Carolina's Seventh Congressional District: the Grand Strand District Office, the Pee Dee District Office, and the Washington, D.C. Office.
