Lance Statement on President Obama's $10-a-barrel tax on oil

Congressman Leonard Lance (NJ-07) released the following statement on the Obama Administration's proposal to add a $10 tax on every barrel of oil:

"The President's plan to impose a new tax on energy will hit American families hard. As a member of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, I am committed to making American energy more affordable and strengthening the U.S. economy. This plan by the President will do neither - which is why there will be overwhelming bipartisan opposition to it. A $10-per-barrel tax on oil will raise energy prices across the board. This plan is dead on arrival in Congress."
