Rep. Zeldin Releases Statement Following Terror Attacks in Brussels

Statement

Date: March 22, 2016
Location: Washington, DC

Congressman Lee Zeldin (R, NY-1), member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, released the following statement in response to the terror attacks in Brussels, Belgium:

"My thoughts and prayers are with the victims, their families, and the people of Belgium in the wake of the horrifying terrorist attacks in Brussels, Belgium.

Today is one more brutal reminder that the threat posed by Islamic terror groups is not just a threat to the Middle East. Too often, the rest of the world is reminded that globally, we must all do more to protect the innocent and defeat all who threaten peace in the name of Islam.

Just last night, the House of Representatives passed my Counterterrorism Screening and Assistance Act. Whether we are helping stop the movement of foreign fighters or boosting intelligence and military capabilities wherever appropriate and necessary, America and our allies must win each day on behalf of our families, our countries and the free world.

There is no limit to the ambition terror groups like ISIS have in waging violent jihad against us. Their ambition must be crushed through the resolve we all have in pursuing the passionate defense of our safety, freedoms and liberties."
