Issue Position: Global Alliances

There is great strength in numbers, and the power of unity-based international consensus cannot be understated. The U.S. must fortify our global relationships in order to better advance our national interests. We are a great nation that is indeed capable of worldwide leadership; leadership that can produce global stability. We must recommit ourselves to this most noble endeavor!

Among a host of other items, we must continue to stand by Israel, our greatest ally in the Middle East. We must support Israeli efforts to defend itself, and oppose Iranian-backed terrorism in the region. We must also be cognizant of the concerns of the Palestinian people living within the borders of Israel. We must support Ukraine and NATO as they face challenges from Russia. We must stand by Egypt as it fights terrorist insurgencies in Sinai and from Libya. We must support Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, the Philippines, and other Asia-Pacific allies in the face of Chinese expansionist behavior.

In this globalized world of ours there is a strong international desire to partner with America, and there are many nations and peoples who do share in our vision for the future. When elected to Congress I will work to strengthen our alliances and develop new relationships across the globe. I will work to promote free, but fair international trade. I will work to foster stronger partnerships in Asia, Africa, and Latin America with both official state institutions as well as with local peoples and groups who share in our vision for a better global future and a more united humanity.
