Congressman Kevin Cramer made the following comments after it was made public the Obama Administration has refused to enforce provisions in the Trade Facilitation and Trade Enforcement Act relating to combating economic boycotts of Israel. The law contains provisions to combat the BDS movement. BDS or Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions efforts are designed to undermine the legitimacy of the State of Israel and harm its economy with economic boycotts.

"Once again President Obama has abandoned our best friend and staunchest ally in the Middle East. Israel is under siege with daily attacks on its citizens by Islamic terrorists and by economic attacks across the globe. The Administration's decision to willfully violate the law and not enforce the Trade Facilitation and Trade Enforcement Act is tragic but not surprising. Israel is an island of freedom and liberty in an ocean of hatred and tyranny called the Middle East. I stand proudly with Israel and will do everything in my power to support them and ensure the phrase "Never Again' is not just an empty promise from President Obama."
