Congressman Rubén Hinojosa and Colleagues Release Amicus Brief to the U.S. Supreme Court in Support of President Obama's Executive Actions on Immigration

Statement

Congressman Rubén Hinojosa (TX-15), along with Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi, Senate Democratic Leader Harry Reid, and 222 additional Members of Congress released an amicus brief before the U.S. Supreme Court. This amicus outlines the legality of President Obama's actions on the Deferred Action for Parents of Americans and Lawful Permanent Residents (DAPA) program and the expansion of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program.

"I am proud to represent the 15th congressional district of Texas, where the economy, culture, and people rely heavily on the invaluable contributions of our immigrant community. I signed this amicus brief to encourage the Supreme Court to look past the political motivations behind this case. I believe that the President's executive orders are based on legal and constitutional precedents, and I remain optimistic that the Court will rule in favor of reuniting immigrant children, parents, and families."
