Thomas Jefferson once said "Peace, commerce and honest friendship with all nations; entangling alliances with none."
For far too long America has tried to be the policemen of the world. Getting involved in situations where we didn't under the history, culture, or politics of the people we were dealing with. As such, we have often made situations worse.
America's primary responsibility is America. Why are we sending our soldiers to protect other countries? Why are we risking our military member's lives for people who do not want us there? Why are we spending money rebuilding other countries when ours needs work? We need to bring our troops home and have American soldiers protecting America. I want our military to be strong enough to protect us and that's easier when they're not half way across the world.
We need to return to a more non-interventionist foreign policy. Our military should be limited to defending U.S. territory, our embassies, and to keep the world's air and sea lanes open for travel and commerce.
