Gov. Jay Nixon today announced that a new startup, Fishtech Labs LLC, is investing $10.2 million in a headquarters facility in the Martin City area of south Kansas City, where it will create 50 new, high-paying jobs.

"Kansas City continues to attract national and international attention for its growing tech sector," Gov. Nixon said. "The state of Missouri strongly supports the entrepreneurs and startups that are creating jobs, and this announcement from Fishtech Labs is more good news for our economy."

The high tech company's investment will help build and equip a facility that will house its back office operations, technology labs and an executive briefing center to showcase next-generation cloud security solutions. The company's focus will be on helping organizations securely migrate to the cloud by investing in, testing, and identifying emerging technology solutions.

To assist in the startup of Fishtech Labs, the Missouri Department of Economic Development has offered a strategic economic incentive package that the company can receive if it meets strict job creation criteria.
