Pittenger: Obama Policies a "Colossal Failure"

Statement

Following Tuesday's State of the Union address, Congressman Robert Pittenger (NC-09) shared his reaction via a video update for constituents.

"The President continued to convey his policies, which frankly have yielded us an ongoing slow economy, growing at less than 2 percent, with about 20 million people still seeking to find a good job. His policies have yielded the slowest job growth of any recovery coming out of a recession.

"I think it begs the question, if we want to continue with big government, with big policies by a heavy-handed government. The American people need to be liberated.

"While I don't question his sincerity, his economic policies have been a colossal failure.

"Look at what Iran is doing, how provocative they've been in taking our sailors. Iran, in the meantime, will get around $150 billion because of the misguided agreement that President Obama negotiated. Iran has been one of the major suppliers of terrorism throughout the world the last 35 years. ISIS has grown. They haven't been reduced by the President's policies.

"House Republicans will come to the American people with real policies that will enable our economy to grow, create opportunity for everyone, and allow America to be strong and secure for our future."
