Walorski Reaction to State of the Union

Statement

Rep. Jackie Walorski (IN-02) issued the following statement following the President Obama's final State of the Union Address:

"Hoosiers deserve more than empty words from the president, they need bold action from their commander in chief. For the past seven years, we've waited for the president to articulate his solutions as well as ensure the safety of our country and after tonight, I'm still waiting.

"While President Obama proposes more burdensome regulations for our small business owners and farmers, Congress is working to repeal those executive actions. While President Obama continues to ignore the will of the American people and use executive actions to infringe on the Second Amendment rights of law-abiding citizens, I'm working to ensure their freedoms are protected. While President Obama fails to articulate his plan to defeat ISIL, I'm working with my colleagues on the House Armed Services Committee to ensure these radical terrorists are prevented from inflicting harm and abuse on America and our Allies.

"Hoosiers deserve lower taxes, less government intrusion, and the strongest military to protect our great nation. These issues, and many more, will require bold action and I'll continue to work with my colleagues, regardless of party or politics on common-sense solutions, not just words, to ensure Hoosier middle-class families and small businesses that want and deserve better to improve their quality of life."
