Kinzinger Statement on Obama's Veto of Repealing Obamacare

Statement

Date: Jan. 8, 2016
Location: Washington, DC

Today, Congressman Adam Kinzinger (R-IL) released the following statement after the President's swift veto of the legislation to repeal Obamacare:

"The President's veto of the measure by Congress to repeal the Affordable Care Act does not come as a shock, but it does highlight the stark contrast between what this Administration and the American people want. The law is hugely unpopular because of the outrageous taxes and mandates that penalize Americans. On Wednesday, this Congress showed a clear path moving forward to repeal Obamacare under a new Administration next year. Such possibility gives hope to our constituents for healthcare reform that increases affordability and access for Americans, without restricting the nation's economic growth. I look forward to what we can accomplish with a conservative in the White House."
