Location: Honolulu, HI
Issues: Religion

"During this 2016 session, there will times of long nights and difficult decisions, please Father God be with these Representatives and provide them with wisdom, strength, and courage.

Special blessings to Speaker Souki, Vice Speaker Mizuno, Majority Leader Saiki, Minority Leader Fukumoto, and all the Members of this House. Father God, also please bless Senate President Ron Kouchi and members of the Hawaii Senate, especially my Senator and brother-in-arms, Senator Harimoto. Please also bless Senator Schatz, Senator Hirono, and Congresswoman Gabbard, Governor Ige, Lieutenant Governor Tsutsui, and all the other people who are the leaders of our islands.

We all know, Father God, that we cannot do our work without the support of our staff. So, please also watch over them and provide them with stamina and discernment during this legislative session.

Hawaii is a special place that we all call home. We are all humbled by your will that has allowed us to be leaders of these lands and people. The challenges facing all of us here today, Father God, requires us to work together.

Many people, many, many people who love these beautiful islands work and strive every day to bring home their hard-earned wages. These are the people who are working hard to build a better life for themselves and their families. Please, Father God, watch over our constituents, the people of this great state.

And finally, Father God, please allow these public servants the wisdom to know that they can only be good servant-leaders with a supporting and loving home. So, please also bless their families and friends at home and allow these Representatives the opportunity to spend some time, quality time with their loved ones during the next few months.

All these things we ask in the name of your Son, Jesus Christ. Amen."
