Today, the House passed the Trade Facilitation and Trade Enforcement Act-- bipartisan, bicameral legislation aimed at enforcing our trade laws, expanding trade markets, and helping small businesses.
Congressman Roskam authored key anti-Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) provisions found in the bill which clearly state Congress's opposition to BDS, protect American companies that do business in Israel, and provide Congress with critical reports on the BDS movement. These efforts are in addition to anti-BDS provisions that were adopted and passed as part of TPA legislation earlier this year.
Congressman Roskam spoke out against the BDS movement on the House floor earlier today.
"Let's not kid ourselves that BDS is an attempt to drive Israel toward the negotiating table. This movement is an attempt to wipe Israel off the map."
