7TH DISTRICT CHAMBERS OF COMMERCE FLY-IN TO NATION'S CAPITOL
Rep. Mica organizes event attended by 9 chambers
Congressman John L. Mica (R-7th District) hosted a Chamber of Commerce Fly-In to the Washington, DC on May 24, 2005. Nine Chambers within the 7th Congressional District sent representatives for the one-day event, with nearly 80 Central and Northeast Floridians traveling to the U.S. Capitol.
"This was a unique opportunity for our local business and community leaders to travel to Washington and meet with our Nation's leaders," stated Congressman Mica. "Chamber members were able to meet with key federal officials to promote pending projects for the district."
Participants met with Bush Administration leaders and Members of Congress to discuss issues facing the 109th Congress and to lobby for important local and regional needs within the 7th District. Meetings were held at the Pentagon, the House of Representatives and the Senate with the following individuals or offices:
House Majority Leader Tom DeLay
Representative Tom Feeney
Representative Adam Putnam
Representative Dennis Kucinich
The 7th Congressional District includes St. Johns County, Flagler County and parts of Putnam, Volusia and Seminole Counties, as well as the cities of Winter Park and Maitland in Orange County.
