Chairman Becerra: Time For Congress To Build And Improve On The ACA -- Doing Nothing Or Making Things Worse Is Not A Solution

Press Release

Location: Washington, DC

Democratic Caucus Chairman Xavier Becerra (CA-34) released a statement on the six-year anniversary of the signing into law of the Affordable Care Act. For photos of Chairman Becerra and House Democrats marking the anniversary of the law today, click here.

"Having quality health insurance can be the difference between life or death, between economic security and peace of mind or bankruptcy. Six years ago, President Obama and Congressional Democrats stood up for the American people and got it done -- we passed the Affordable Care Act. Indisputably, 20 million Americans -- including 1.3 million Californians -- now have life-saving health insurance.

"My House Republican colleagues' 63 attempts to repeal or dismantle that health security without an alternative for nine in 10 Americans is not just harmful, it is dangerous. It's time for Congress to get to work to build and improve on the Affordable Care Act. Doing nothing or making things worse is not a solution."
