Location: Washington, DC

U.S. Rep. Gregg Harper released the following statement after the House of Representatives passed the Bipartisan Budget Agreement of 2015:

"This two-year bipartisan, bicameral, budget agreement secures long-term savings through structural entitlement reforms, protects the economy by avoiding a default on the national debt, and strengthens our national security and Armed Forces," said Harper. "The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office confirmed that H.R. 1314 -- the Bipartisan Budget Agreement -- is fully paid for (meaning it will not increase the debt beyond the levels previously established in the Bipartisan Budget Act of 2013), will strengthen Social Security, and save taxpayers billions over the long-term. While the bill is far from perfect, the benefits of the bill outweigh the costs."
