On the President's Desk

Statement

Date: Jan. 6, 2016
Location: Washington, DC

Congressman Doug Lamborn issued the following statement after passage of H.R. 3762 - Restoring Americans' Healthcare Freedom Reconciliation Act of 2015:

"Today, Congress sent a loud-and-clear message on behalf of the American people. The Restoring Americans' Healthcare Freedom Reconciliation Act is projected to cut the federal deficit by a half trillion dollars over the next decade by gutting Obamacare, prohibiting taxpayer dollars from going to organizations that perform abortions, and redirecting those funds to community health centers to promote greater access to care for women, men, children, and the unborn. President Obama now has the moral responsibility to support this bill. This will be the first time ever that both chambers of Congress approve an Obamacare repeal measure, forcing the President to either sign or veto it. If the President fails to support this important legislation, we will fight to override his veto by the end of January. Whatever the final outcome, this significant milestone lays the groundwork for full repeal of Obamacare in 2017."
