Congressman Curt Clawson (FL-19) today supported legislation in the House of Representatives to repeal ObamaCare and defund Planned Parenthood. Following the vote, Clawson stated:

"Because ObamaCare is hurting Southwest Floridians, I joined today with my Republican teammates in the effort to repeal this law and send it to the President's desk. Millions of individuals have lost their coverage under ObamaCare, in excess of 300,000 in Florida alone, with premiums increasing by over 35% for those who can afford to keep healthcare their coverage. With the right leadership in our nation, we can pass a plan that reduces costs, maintains quality, and provides access to everyone."

The legislation the House sent to the President's desk today also contained a provision to defund much of the federal funding for Planned Parenthood. Clawson added:

"With the revelations regarding this organization last year, it has lost the privilege to provide community health needs in our nation, especially with so many other great non-controversial community health organizations ready to step in its place. As I traveled through Southwest Florida over the holiday period, the response was overwhelming that federal funding of Planned Parenthood should end."
