Congressman Tom Marino (PA-10) issued the following statement after voting in favor of H.R. 2029, the Protecting Americans from Tax Hikes (PATH) Act which passed the House of Representatives 318-109:

"When I speak with people across the tenth district about their finances, the overwhelming majority of them tell me that having greater certainty about their financial outlook is most important -- whether it is for their small business or family's budget. That is why I voted in favor of this important tax reform package.

This legislation is just as important for individuals as it is for businesses. It provides the certainty families require and includes measures to stabilize an otherwise unruly tax structure. Among other things, we fought to maintain classroom tax credits for teachers while encouraging employers to hire the long-term unemployed. This package also delays Obamacare's medical device tax makes the R&D tax credit a permanent fixture within the tax code and encourages businesses to expand by making the Section 179 deductions permanent.

In all, this bill is a positive step in the right direction for everyday working families. It inspires confidence for every American's economic outlook - especially as we head into the holidays and New Year."
