More than 120 National Anti-Drug Groups Back Bipartisan Bill to Address Heroin Epidemic

Strong bipartisan support continues to build for the Comprehensive Addiction & Recovery Act (S. 524) authored by Senators Rob Portman & Sheldon Whitehouse. The bill is expected to be approved later today by the Senate Judiciary Committee.

There are 28 bipartisan Senate cosponsors of the bill. Among the notable names: Sens. Kelly Ayotte, Marco Rubio, Orrin Hatch, Chuck Schumer, Jeanne Shaheen, Elizabeth Warren & Joe Manchin, among others.

The bill has received strong support from Ohio anti-drug groups.

Also noteworthy, the bill also has the support of more than 120 national anti-drug groups, including:

National District Attorneys Association
Major County Sheriffs Association
National Association of Addiction Treatment Providers
Faces and Voices of Recovery; and
Partnership for Drug-Free Kids.
