Issue Position

I believe in free market economies with little or no government interaction.

I believe in free markets and that the economy can grow naturally and can recover from downturns naturally, with limited on no government interaction. Economic prosperity comes when the economic forces are allowed to control themselves. The government's role in the economy is to create an environment without restrictive barriers and where businesses can flourish. The process for starting and operating a business needs to be simple and straight-forward and businesses should be able to gain access to resources without restrictive barriers. This means government regulations need to be simplified, licensing processes must be simplified, access to capital must be simplified, patent protection processes need to be simplified, and taxes must be simplified. Allowing businesses to start, to grow, and to thrive will result in a strong economy.
