Senator John Hoeven, who serves on the U.S. Senate Appropriations Committee, today announced that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has awarded $339,866 to the North Dakota Department of Health. The funds will be used to support Maternal and Child Health Services.
As part of the Division of Family Health, the funding will help to provide technical assistance, training, needs assessment, educational materials and other resources to local public health units, schools and other public and private entities that offer health services in North Dakota communities.

"Healthy mothers and children make for healthy and strong adults," Hoeven said. "Today's funds will support programs like newborn screening, healthy pregnancy outcomes, women's health services and other services that strengthen families and help children get off to a good start in life."
