Unfortunately, Social Security recipients will not receive a cost-of-living adjustment this year, according to a government announcement made in October 2015.
During the last 10 years, benefits have increased an average of 2% per year, however, there were no increases for 2010 and 2011.
No cost-of-living adjustment was given this year due to weak inflation and a sluggish economy.
Senator Lankford has committed to make sure the government keeps its promise to seniors.
