Governor Tomblin Announces $3.6 Million in Grant Funding to Support Local Support Groups, Community Justice Programs

Statement

Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin today announced the awarding of more than $3.6 million in grant funding to support 65 community support groups and justice programs statewide. This funding will be used to develop new programming and enhance existing initiatives to support West Virginia's communities and state justice system.

"The communities we live in are more than just places we put down roots and raise a family. They are places we call home, and they should be places we feel safe," Gov. Tomblin said. "Unfortunately, that is not a reality for so many men, women and children who are victims of violence, abuse and crime. This grant funding helps support community-based programs so many of our friends and neighbors rely on to provide the services they need to get back on their feet."
