Cardin Statement on Casualties in Kunduz

U.S. Senator Ben Cardin (D-MD), Ranking Member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, issued the following statement regarding the tragic bombing this Saturday in Kunduz, Afghanistan.

"I extend my deepest condolences to the individuals and families of those killed or injured in Saturday's tragic bombing of the Doctors without Borders hospital in Kunduz, Afghanistan. Doctors without Borders is an unparalleled organization, working in the most dangerous and difficult war zones around the world. It has saved thousands of lives across Afghanistan and the U.S. and Afghanistan owe this courageous organization an extraordinary debt of gratitude for their work. I strongly urge the Pentagon to expedite an investigation into this incident. It should make the findings public and hold those found responsible fully accountable for their actions."
