Boustany Congratulates Paul Ryan on Election as Speaker of the House

Congressman Charles W. Boustany, Jr., MD, (R-South Louisiana) congratulated Congressman Paul Ryan (R-WI) on his election as Speaker of the House.

Boustany said: "The House Republican Conference is at a crossroads. We are sorely in need of a leader with a demonstrated record of conservative legislative achievement, the ability to unify factions, and a deep knowledge of policy. That person is Paul Ryan.

"Moving forward, I'm looking forward to a renewed spirit of unity and a fresh start within our Conference. It's time to focus less on what divides us and focus more on how we can work together to get things done. Like my friend Paul Ryan, I'm concentrating on being an effective conservative, because that's what our country truly needs."
