Barr Votes Against Iran Nuclear Deal

Statement

Date: Sept. 11, 2015
Issues: Foreign Affairs

Congressman Andy Barr (KY-6) voted against legislation to approve the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action between the P5+1 countries and Iran, also known as the Iran nuclear agreement.

"The proposed Iran deal will not deliver the safety and security the American people deserve," said Congressman Barr. "Instead, it will allow Iran to acquire an arsenal of nuclear weapons in as little as ten years, reward Iran with billions of dollars in sanctions relief it will use to support its terrorist proxies, and spark a nuclear arms race in the broader Middle East. A nuclear Iran is a global threat to everyone, everywhere."
