Minnesota Congressman John Kline issued the following statement today after supporting bipartisan legislation (H.R. 719) which will fund the government until Dec. 11, 2015:

"A 10-week extension of current spending is less than ideal, but I put principle ahead of politics and supported this bipartisan legislation to keep the government running so members from both parties in the House and Senate can get serious and work toward a long-term funding solution.

"For too long, the White House and Congress have been engulfed in self-created crises and cliffs. The private sector doesn't operate this way; the federal government shouldn't, either. Moving forward, we must tackle the issues Americans sent us to Washington to face which include long-term solutions to runaway spending and debt."
