Issues: Infrastructure

Today, U.S. Representative Candice Miller (MI-10) applauded the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's announcement that it will award the Washington Township Fire Department with a $140,394 grant to help with operations and safety.

"Our communities rely on the lifesaving services provided by the brave men and women of our local fire departments. However, shrinking budgets have made it increasingly difficult for them to secure the resources they need to effectively and safely do their jobs," Miller said. "I am hopeful that this grant will help ensure the Washington Township Fire Department has the tools it needs to continue protecting our community."

"This grant will help our Fire Department improve safety in our community. Washington residents continue to benefit from strategic thinking by our Fire Department leadership, the Department of Homeland Security and the Federal Emergency Management Administration," said Dan O'Leary, Washington Township Supervisor. "We are grateful to Representative Candice Miller's office for her assistance in watching out for the safety of Washington residents."
