United States Senator Claire McCaskill is concluding her statewide Missouri Agriculture Tour, which included 13 stops at various farms, ranches and research facilities in Missouri.

Senator McCaskill plans to take the feedback she gathered back to the U.S. Senate to provide better advocacy for farmers in the country. McCaskill had the opportunity to speak directly with researchers, farmers, producers and ranchers about issues they're facing, and discuss upcoming priorities for Congress regarding Missouri agriculture.

"I learned a lot from these folks, including that we've got to do a better job of rolling back the unnecessary rules and regulations that hinder growth at the same time we ensure that government is giving them the tools to expand their operations and train and incentivize the next generation of farmers," McCaskill stated in a release to the public.

McCaskill has made it a key part of her platform to be an advocate for agriculture in the State of Missouri, and now, armed with direct feedback, is excited to get back to Washington and get to work.

"Hearing directly from Missouri's farmers, ranchers, producers, and researchers is the best way for me to ensure I'm the best fighter for them I can be," McCaskill stated. "Agriculture is a huge part of Missouri's economy -- connecting urban and rural areas and helping to feed this country and the world -- and we've got to keep it thriving."
