Issues: Senior Citizens Entitlements and the Safety Net Health Insurance Veterans

Congressman Connolly believes we need to make sure that all Americans can retire with peace of mind. As Chairman of the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors, he helped launch the 50+ Initiative to address the many challenges facing seniors, including housing, health, transportation and education/volunteer opportunities. Congressman Connolly believes seniors are a resource within the community. He believes we must preserve Social Security and Medicare for future generations and has fought efforts to undermine the programs. Congressman Connolly is a member of the Congressional Seniors Task Force, where he is promoting legislation to improve financial security, affordable health care, and quality of life for older Americans including:

Closing the Medicare prescription drug donut hole and providing free preventative care

Preventing reductions in doctor reimbursements for Medicare and TRICARE beneficiaries

Helping seniors avoid foreclosure and stay in their homes

Protecting seniors from financial scams and exploitation
