The healthcare industry has been in a state of transition for the past few years due to Obamacare, the shift from charity hospitals to public-private partnerships and the changing landscape of health insurance. As Governor, Scott will push for fiscally responsible, market-based healthcare solutions that protect working families and provide the highest quality of care.

Scott does not believe that expanding our current broken Medicaid system makes sense for Louisiana. However, he is ready to lead the conversation to consider expanding healthcare coverage for Louisiana's working class through conservative, market-based solutions.

Life should always be better for those that work hard everyday than for those that can work, but chose not to.

As Governor, Scott Angelle will:

* Partner with the Legislature and private providers to expand healthcare coverage by exploring, market-driven options, and cost-sharing by beneficiaries;
* Follow through on the state's efforts to privatize the outdated charity hospital system, ensuring that all our citizens can access high-quality health care; and
* Maintain and expand top-tier graduate medical education and allied health training, to keep our best and brightest medical professionals right here in Louisiana.
