Cramer Releases Statement on WOTUS Injunction Hearing

Statement

Date: Aug. 21, 2015
Location: Washington, DC
Issues: Environment

Congressman Kevin Cramer released the following statement following oral arguments in a case where 13 states, including North Dakota, are seeking an injunction to delay the effective date of the "Waters of the United States" (WOTUS) Rule.

"I applaud Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem for his strong leadership on this issue. This request is appropriate because the rule will have a devastating effect on North Dakota's economy as well as the economy of our nation. Given the serious legal and constitutional questions surrounding the rule, the case should be litigated to conclusion before the rule's effects go into place, making a temporary injunction a simple matter for the court to decide. I look forward to Judge Erickson's order next week."

If an injunction is not issued by the courts, the WOTUS Rule will go into effect on Friday, August 28.
