Today, the House of Representatives voted to pass H.R. 427, the Regulations from the Executive in Needs of Scrutiny (REINS) Act with Congressman Poe's support. This legislation will require any federal rule or regulation with an annual economic impact of $100 million or more to come before Congress for an up-or-down before being adopted as law.

"For years, the fourth branch of government -- the regulators in Washington -- has proposed expensive, burdensome and ineffective regulations," said Rep. Poe. "Unfortunately, the high cost of complying with these regulations threatens American jobs, putting some out of business and causing others to pack up and take their business elsewhere. The REINS Act is a commonsense piece of legislation that cuts the red tape, holds the government accountable and allows for American businesses to thrive without burdensome, bureaucratic regulations."
