Date: July 29, 2015
Location: Washington, DC

Congressman Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) today was presented with the American Conservative Union (ACU) Award for Conservative Excellence by ACU Chairman Matt Schlapp.

The ACU, the nation's largest grassroots conservative organization, was founded in 1964 to promote the principles of liberty and the strength of the Constitution. The award recognizes Congressman Blackburn's 96% rating as part of ACU's Annual Rating of Congress that rates members based on their voting record on issues important to conservatives. The nationwide average for Republican members of Congress is 76%. Since 1971, the Congressional ratings have become the gold standard in holding every member of Congress accountable for their voting record by scoring some of the most important issues facing the nation.

"It is an honor to accept this award that recognizes members who stay true to their conservative ideals and vote in the manner their constituents elected them to. I thank the ACU for their efforts to hold members of Congress accountable and will continue my work to strengthen our country through meaningful conservative reforms," Blackburn said.
