Hats off the Vets
Last Friday the Veterans from WWII were recognized at the William "Pete" Knight Veterans Home. August 14 commemorates the 70th Anniversary of "the Greatest Generation's Greatest Day" - the day World War II ended. Thank you to all of our Veterans and their families for their service and sacrifice.

Small Business Workshop
On Tuesday, August 25 I am hosting a Small Business Workshop & Expo in Santa Clarita. Small businesses owners from around the community are invited to learn new tactics to navigate federal regulations and rules to win government contracts, increase their access to capital, and boost their sales overseas. The event will feature guest speakers, expert panels, and a resource fair all focused on the theme of federal government empowering and strengthening the local small business community.

Dining with the Captains
This afternoon there was a luncheon honoring Captains from the Los Angeles Police Department in Porter Ranch. I want to thank the Captains of our own Devonshire Station, Captain Robert Marino and Captain Beverly Lewis, for their hard work and dedicated service to our community

Fair Play
Last week the Ventura County Fair was in full force. I hope everyone could make it out to check out all the great food and rides. Sadly, I was out of the country and couldn't attend, but there's always next year!
