Issue Position

I am, and always have been, pro-life. I believe every life, including the unborn, has dignity, and my voting record in Congress will always reflect that belief. I have consistently been supportive of banning abortion with the exceptions of rape, incest, and endangerment to the life of the mother.

During my time in Congress, I have opposed public funding for abortion. That is why I co-sponsored H.R. 7, the No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act, which would establish a permanent government-wide ban on taxpayer funded abortions, including prohibiting abortion subsidies in the President's healthcare law. I was proud to support this bill which passed the House.

Additionally, I am a strong supporter of protecting traditional marriage and family. I believe marriage is defined as the special union between one man and one woman.
