Reid Statement On Nevada Public Utilities Commission Decision

Nevada Senator Harry Reid released the following statement after the Nevada Public Utilities Commission voted to keep existing rates for rooftop solar customers in place through the end of the year, despite hitting a statewide cap on net metering last week:

"The Commission's decision will allow Nevadans who want to generate their own clean energy to continue installing solar panels on their homes. As the Commission works with NV Energy, solar installers and other stakeholders to come up with a new net metering policy this year, I urge all parties to work toward empowering consumers and maximizing the value of Nevada's enormous renewable energy resources."
